The current Zoning Ordinance in effect was adopted by the Board of Supervisors on August 14, 1978, and may be viewed on our main Zoning Ordinance page.
Please note that the Zoning Ordinances below appear as adopted in the year indicated. However, each Zoning Ordinance had multiple amendments between the year of adoption and the next adopted Zoning Ordinance in the series. In addition, there may be related provisions contained in other regulatory documents, such as the Building Code or the Subdivision Ordinance, that apply but are outside the purview of the Department of Planning and Zoning. To determine which Zoning Ordinance provisions were in effect at a particular time, contact the Zoning Administration Division at 703-324-1314.
