Upcoming Land Use Cases

The following land use applications have recently been accepted by Fairfax County for review. The review process includes public hearings before the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors:

South of the terminus of Challendon Road, Great Falls

Proposal to rezone an 11-acre parcel from R-A to R-1 Cluster. The rezoning would permit the construction of 10 homes.

A proposed Special Exception on approximately 2.23 acres (split-zoned R-1 and C-8) to allow for an 11,945 square foot retail sales establishment with drive-through pharmacy and a 5,760 square foot building for retail or other permitted uses in the C-8 district.

East side of Centreville Road and north side of Woodland Park Road, Herndon

Application to rezone a portion of the Woodland Park Waterview development from Planned Development Commercial to Planned Development Housing (PDH-30) to allow a five-story multi-family building with up to 298 residential units, 56 two-over-two multi-family units, and 32 urban style townhomes.

631 Walker Road, Great Falls

The applicant seeks a Special Exception to waive the minimum lot width requirement in order to subdivide a 4.00-acre, R-E zoned parcel into two lots. The property is developed with a single-family detached dwelling that would remain. The overall density of the proposed subdivision would be 0.5 units per acre (or one dwelling per two acres).
