Pedestrian & Bicycle Task Force
About the Task Force
Supervisor John Foust appointed the McLean Pedestrian and Bicycle Task Force in the late summer of 2008 to study the McLean downtown Community Business Center and access to it and make recommendations for how they can become safer and more accessible for pedestrians and bicyclists. The Task Force, chaired by Doug Potts, has been meeting monthly since September of last year and has examined nearly every street in downtown McLean.
Final Report of Task Force
On November 5, 2009 the Task Force presented their final report to Supervisor John Foust. The report identifies problems and recommends solutions in the areas of:
- Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety and Access in Downtown McLean
- Bicycle Safety and access on Routes into and around Downtown McLean
- Safe Pedestrian access to Downtown from Community Anchors
- Design Options for Increasing Safety and Walkability
