DSPD Mourns the Loss of John Hudson
The Department of Family Services' Disability Services Planning and
Development (DSPD) unit along with the Fairfax Area Disability Services
Board (FA-DSB) are deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of John
Hudson during a recent hospitalization. In the 15 years that he has been
with Fairfax County, John made immeasurable improvements to enhance the
lives of people with disabilities in the Fairfax Area. John was the
Director of Disability Services Planning and Development and lead staff
support to the FA-DSB for more than 10 years. More recently, John guided
Fairfax County through a new venture by joining with the Office of
Emergency Management to design and implement the Medical Needs Registry.
The success of the registry is unparalleled and John's efforts have
brought national attention and acclaim to Fairfax County for including
people with disabilities in its emergency preparedness efforts.
To honor John's memory and commemorate his life, please post comments,
tributes and condolences
online.
The impact that John has had on our lives and on our community will live
on in our hearts and memories forever.
