TextDisability Employment Awareness Month
The Board of Supervisors designated October as Disability Employment Awareness Month in Fairfax County. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 promotes independence, empowerment and quality of life. During October emphasis is placed on the progress that has been made since 1990 as well as the work that needs to continue to ensure the goals of equal access and full inclusion for everyone.
