The Community Planning Collaborative on Homelessness is a process
established in 2004 to ensure that the County and the community
support policies, programs, and services that prevent homelessness
and meet the needs of those families and individuals who become
homeless. The Collaborative encompasses two major bodies, the
Council on Homelessness and the
Community Forum on Homelessness (see below). In addition, there
are standing committees to carry out work for the Collaborative,
and ad hoc committees can be formed for special projects. Together
with the standing and ad hoc committees, the Council and the
Forum conduct the necessary business and work to support the
broad purposes of the Collaborative.
The Community Forum on Homelessness is open to all persons
and organizations involved or interested in services and programs
to prevent homelessness or to address the needs of persons who
become homeless in the Fairfax-Falls Church community. The Community
Forum gives an opportunity for networking and sharing among
providers and advocates. It also provides for a broad exchange
of information among participants to help ensure that the Collaborative
remains a consensus driven process, and that information about
the work of the Council and the committees is shared with the
larger community. Meetings of the Forum are scheduled by the
Council on Homelessness and listed on the CPCH
Calendar of Events and Meetings.
