Before You Begin

Vehicles purchased or moved into the county must be registered within 60 days of the purchase or move-in date.
Each car must be registered separately. If you are registering more than one vehicle, you must complete this process once for each vehicle.
Do not use this application to pay car taxes or to report the sale or move-out of a vehicle already registered with Fairfax County.
You will need to gather the following information in order to complete the registration:
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Vehicle Year
- Vehicle Make
- Vehicle Model
- Number of cylinders
- Weight of your vehicle
- Cost of your vehicle
