The Virginia Department of Transportation is responsible for plowing the public roads including interstate, primary, secondary and residential roads in Fairfax County. Clearing is done on a priority basis, with interstates and high volume roads cleared first. Please contact VDOT at 703-383-8368, TTY 711, for more information.

The county does not clear public roads of snow unless there is a blue sign that reads, “Fairfax County Maintained Here to XXX feet.” If VDOT or the county are not responsible, it is the homeowner’s association or the developer’s/ builder’s responsibility to clear roads in neighborhoods.

Fairfax County Government offices are closed, Monday, Feb. 15, for George Washington's Day.
Fairfax County Public Schools are closed, Monday, Feb. 15.

The Fairfax County Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are closed for George Washington's Day.

Park Authority events, scheduled classes and group fitness (XYO) drop-in classes held at RECenters or other Park Authority facilities are cancelled. Park Authority classes held at school locations, senior centers or community centers are cancelled.
All Department of Community and Recreation Services activities, programs and facilities are closed.
Reston Community Center Determinations regarding program and facility activities will be made depending on local conditions but will occur as scheduled if at all possible; call RCC at 703-476-4500, TTY 711 for further information.
McLean Community Center and the Old Firehouse Teen Center will be closed Monday. Please call the MCC at 703-790-0123, TTY 711 for more information.
