Chantilly Fire

Fairfax Fire and Rescue Department units responded to an outside building fire at approximately 3:55 a.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2005, in the Chantilly area of Fairfax County. The structure is located at 4208 Kincaid Court.

Firefighters saw fire and smoke coming from the rear of a two-story house upon arrival. Firefighters encountered an outside building, approximately 12 feet by 16 feet, fully involved with fire. The building was in close proximity to the garage area of the home and was a complete loss. Additionally, the fire extended to the house and caused damage to the garage and kitchen areas. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 25 minutes. Three adults and two children have been displaced. Two dogs perished in the fire. There were no other injuries.

Damage is estimated at $50,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
