Springfield Townhouse Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a townhouse fire at approximately 10:20 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2005, in the Springfield area of Fairfax County. The two-story townhouse is located at 8229 Crestmont Circle.

First arriving firefighters reported fire on the second floor. Firefighters conducted an aggressive attack and brought the fire under control in approximately six minutes. Seven residents were displaced by the fire. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $75,000.

Fire investigators determined that a juvenile playing with matches caused the fire.
