Springfield House Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house on fire at approximately 12:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2005, in the Springfield area of Fairfax County. The two-story single-family home is located at 6909 Floyd Avenue.

First arriving firefighters reported a fully involved basement fire. The fire was brought under control in approximately 10 minutes. There were no reported injuries. The home was vacant.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
