Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 10:50 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2005, in the Woodlawn area of Fairfax County. The two-story townhouse is located at 8064 Saint Annes Court.
First arriving firefighters reported smoke visible through the rear basement window. An additional alarm was requested, bringing over 60 emergency personnel to the scene. Four victims, two adults and two children, were rescued by emergency personnel, and transported to local hospitals. An adult male family member was also transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. An adult male and two children were pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Fairfax County Police Department officials will release the identity of the victims.
Damage is estimated at $75,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
