Fairfax Station House Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 8:10 a.m., Sunday, December 18, 2005, in the Fairfax Station area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 10619 Sandy Run Trail.

First arriving firefighters reported no fire or smoke showing from the three-story large masonry home. The fire was extinguished prior to units arrival. The fire displaced two adults and five children.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.

The cause of the fire is determined to be accidental. An open unattended sterno container caused the fire.
