Falls Church High School Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a fire alarm activation at Falls Church High School at approximately 3:05 a.m., Wednesday, May 31, 2006, in the Falls Church area of Fairfax County. The school is located at 7521 Jaguar Trail.

First arriving firefighters reported smoke in an office. Firefighters conducted an aggressive attack and brought the fire under control in approximately 10 minutes. There were no injuries.

According to fire investigators the fire was accidental. A laptop computer left in a case surrounded with paper and plugged in to an electrical outlet caused the fire.

Damage is estimated at $15,000.

The school opened on schedule.
