Lightning Strike Starts House Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 7 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2006, in the Frying Pan area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 13386 Glen Taylor Lane.

Firefighters arrived to find a two-story single-family dwelling with fire through the roof. Firefighters conducted an aggressive attack and brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. There were no reported injuries. One adult and one child have been displaced.

Damage is estimated at $300,000.

The cause of the fire was accidental; a lightning strike to the roof caused the fire
