Centreville Townhouse Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a fire in a townhouse at approximately 3:10 a.m., Tuesday, July 11, 2006, in the Centreville area of Fairfax County. The townhouse is located at 6850 Ridge Water Court.

Firefighters reported fire visible from the second floor and the rear of the two-story townhouse. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. One firefighter was transported to Fair Oaks Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Two adults and one child have been displaced and are staying with relatives.

Damage is estimated at $75,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. Improperly discarded smoking materials on the deck caused the fire.
