Annandale Townhouse Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a fire in a townhouse at approximately 9:00 p.m., Thursday, July 13, 2006, in the Annandale area of Fairfax County. The townhouse is located at 6507 Nightwind Court.

Firefighters reported fire visible from the second floor of the three-story townhouse. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. One firefighter received non-life threatening injuries that did not require treatment or transport. Two adults and two children have been displaced and are staying with relatives.

Damage is estimated at $200,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. A lamp too close to draperies caused the fire.
