Lorton House Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 7:15 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2006, in the Lorton area of Fairfax County. The home is located at 8909 Lagrange Street.

Firefighters saw fire and smoke showing from the eaves of the roof of the single-family home upon arrival. Firefighters contained fire to the roof and attic area and brought the fire under control in approximately 25 minutes. There were no injuries. Ten residents have been displaced and are staying with relatives.

Damage is estimated at $50,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. An electrical line connected to a gable mounted fan caused the fire.
