Falls Church Apartment Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to an apartment fire at approximately 10:10 a.m., Thursday, September 28, 2006, in the Falls Church area of Fairfax County. The three-story garden apartment, Bedford Village, is located at 8225 Adenlee Avenue.

Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. There were no reported injuries. Approximately four apartment units sustained fire and or water damage, and ten units sustained smoke damage. Number of residents displaced is undetermined.

Damage is estimated at $75,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental, a plumber using a torch in apartment #2, HVAC closet, accidentally started the fire.
