Accidental Annandale Apartment Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a garden apartment fire at approximately 6:20 p.m., Sunday, November 19, 2006, in the Annandale area of Fairfax County. The apartment is located at 4337 Wedgewood Drive.

Firefighters saw smoke coming from the second floor of the three-story building upon arrival. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control. Four adults and four children have been displaced. The apartment management company is assisting the displaced occupants. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $75,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. An unattended candle in a bedroom caused the fire.
