Burke House Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 7:50 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2006, in the Burke area of Fairfax County. The single family home is located at 6630 Bestwicke Road.

First arriving firefighters reported heavy fire coming from the garage and extending to the side of the two-story home. Firefighters conducted an aggressive attack and brought the fire under control in approximately 25 minutes. There were no injuries. Four adults have been displaced. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.

Damage is estimated at $200,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. An electrical anomaly from holiday lights caused the fire.
