Fairfax Center Townhouse Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a townhouse fire at approximately 4:10 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2006, in the Fairfax Center area of Fairfax County. The three-story townhouse is located at 11503 Rothbury Square.

Firefighters reported heavy fire and smoke visible from the front of a second-floor window of the structure. The fire was brought under control in approximately 20 minutes. The townhouse was vacant at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries.

Damage is estimated at $75,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. An unattended self-cleaning oven in the kitchen area caused the fire.
