Kings Park West House Fire Injures Two

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 4:50 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2006, in the Kings Park West area of Fairfax County. The two-story house is located at 5238 Pumphrey Drive.

Firefighters reported heavy fire from both floors of a single-family home. The fire was brought under control in approximately 20 minutes. One adult female resident and one firefighter were transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The fire originated in the rear of the sunroom.

Damage is estimated at $225,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. An aerosol cleaning product being sprayed too close to a candle caused the fire.
