Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 3:50 a.m., Friday, December 15, 2006, in the Burke area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 9723 Maury Road.
Firefighters saw heavy fire coming from the rear of the home upon arrival. The all-brick ranch style home became fully involved with fire shortly thereafter. The fire was brought under control in approximately 35 minutes. The home was unoccupied and vacant. There were no injuries.
Damage is estimated at $400,000.
The fire is under investigation.
