Burke Townhouse Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a townhouse fire at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2007, in the Burke area of Fairfax County.

The townhouse is located at 5509 Swift Current Court.

Firefighters experienced fire in the attic and walls of the three-story townhouse upon arrival. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 10 minutes. Two adults have been displaced. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $50,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. An electrical anomaly in the vanity mirror sparked the attic fire.
