Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire in the Annandale area of Fairfax County at approximately 8:20 a.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2007. The house is located at 3232 Annandale Road.
Firefighters encountered fire and smoke from the rear of the single-story home. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 10 minutes. The fire originated in the kitchen. One resident was evaluated and treated at the scene by paramedics. Three adults and three children have been displaced. Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents.
Damage is estimated at $209,000.
According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. Unattended food on the stove caused the fire.
