Commercial Townhouse Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a commercial townhouse fire at approximately 5 p.m., Wednesday, October 31, 2007, in the Franconia area of Fairfax County. The two-story commercial townhouse, United States Mortgage, is located at 6265 Franconia Road.

Firefighters saw fire and smoke coming from the side of the townhouse upon arrival. The fire was brought under control in approximately 10 minutes. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $150,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. An unattended candle in the office caused the fire.
