Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 1:40 p.m., Monday, November 5, 2007, in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. The house is located at 4335 Rolling Stone Way.
Firefighters encountered fire visible through the attic and the roof of the one-story home upon arrival. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. The house was vacant and under renovation. The fire originated in the master bedroom and spread quickly throughout the entire home. There were no injuries.
Damage is estimated at $314,000.
According to fire investigators, the cause of the fire was accidental. A torch used to solder copper pipes started the fire.
