Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 7:20 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2007, in the Great Falls area of Fairfax County. The house is located at 998 Jaysmith Street.
Firefighters reported heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear second floor and through the roof of the two-story home upon arrival. An additional alarm was requested bringing over 60 emergency personnel to the scene.
Damage is estimated at $400,000.
According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. The fire originated near an electrical wall outlet.
