Two-Alarm Centreville House Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 1:20 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2008, in the Centreville area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 15415 Kentwell Circle.

Firefighters encountered heavy fire and smoke throughout the two-story, brick home upon arrival. An additional alarm was requested bringing over 60 emergency personnel to the scene. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 70 minutes. Two adults and one juvenile were at home and escaped unharmed, along with several family pets. One firefighter was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Two adults and one juvenile have been displaced.

The home was destroyed. Loss is estimated at $1.5 million.

According to fire investigators, the fire originated in the enclosed patio area. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
