Springfield House Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire Monday, March 24, 2008, at approximately 10:10 p.m., in the Springfield area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 7400 Arundel Place.

Firefighters saw heavy fire and smoke coming from all sides and roof of the two-story home upon their arrival. The heavy fire quickly spread throughout the structure, totally engulfing the home in flames. It took firefighters approximately 35 minutes to bring the fire under control. No one was home when the fire started. Two occupants have been displaced. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $600,000. The home is a complete loss.

According to fire investigators, the fire is under investigation.
