Two-Alarm Baileys Crossroads House Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire on Sunday, April 6, 2008, at approximately 6:20 a.m., in the Baileys Crossroads area of Fairfax County. The single-family house is located at 5501 Bradley Boulevard.

Firefighters encountered heavy fire through the roof and side of the one-story rambler-style home upon arrival. An additional alarm was requested bringing over 60 emergency personnel to the scene. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes. There were no reported injuries. One adult and one child have been displaced.

Damage is estimated at $100,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire originated in the attic. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
