Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators charged Joshua Lavontae Gingrich, a 19-year-old, Lorton man, Monday, August 18, 2008. Gingrich is charged with seven counts, manufacture, transport, possession and use of a fire bomb or explosive materials or devices, (Class 5 Felony, Virginia Code § 18.2-85). Gingrich was arrested after detonating seven bottle explosives at a Springfield shopping center, 8094 Rolling Road, August 18, 2008, at approximately 7:40 p.m. There were no injuries.
Gingrich is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
