Herndon House Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at approximately 9:10 p.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2008, in the Herndon area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 12923 Lyme Bay Drive.

Firefighters encountered fire and smoke visible from the second floor front windows of the two-story home upon arrival. Three occupants were at home when the fire started and escaped unharmed. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 10 minutes. Three residents were displaced. There were no injuries. 

Damage is estimated at $150,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire was accidental. An electrical anomaly caused the fire.
