Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators charged three juveniles, Tuesday, December 9, 2008, with carelessly damaging property by fire, (Class 4 misdemeanor, Virginia Code § 18.2-88).
The arrests are in connection with intentionally setting brush and leaves on fire near 6958 Park Avenue, McLean. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 8, 2008.
Firefighters responded to the outside brush fire, quickly extinguishing it. There was no damage or injuries.
The male juveniles are 15, 16, and 17 years–old and from the McLean area. They all have been released to their parents pending court hearing.
Class 4 misdemeanor may convey a fine of not more than $250.
