Stephen R. Bracey, 31, no fixed address, has been identified as the victim in the Annandale shed fire, Monday, January 5, 2009. According to the medical examiner, the cause of death was smoke inhalation.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a shed fire at approximately 10:25 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2009, in the Annandale area of Fairfax County. The shed is located at 4808 Backlick Road on the property of Meadow Farms Nurseries.
Firefighters encountered fire showing from a wooden shed to the rear of the property upon arrival. The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters. During overhaul of the approximate 12 foot by 20 foot structure, firefighters found a deceased adult male inside the shed. The fire was initially reported by a resident living nearby.
The shed was destroyed by fire.
The victim has not been identified. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. Fire and Police investigators are jointly investigating the death.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
