Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators charged Kyle Thomas Hayden, 18, of 8400 block of Sulky Court, in the Mount Vernon area, with five felony charges Wednesday, March 4, 2009.
Hayden was charged for burning or destruction of vehicle valued over $200 (Class 4 Felony, Virginia Code 18.2-81) and use of fire bomb materials (Class 5 Felony, Virginia Code 18.2-85) in a January 16, 2009 car fire, 1006 Priscilla Lane.
Hayden was also charged with attempting to maliciously burn an occupied dwelling (Class 4 Felony, Virginia Code 18.2-77), burning or destruction of household items involving property valued greater than $200 (Class 4 Felony, Virginia Code 18.2-81), and for malicious setting of fire to materials capable of spreading (Class 6 Felony, Virginia Code 18.2-86), March 4, 2009, in connection with an outside fire also at 1006 Priscilla Lane.
There were no injuries in either incident.
Damage estimate for the car fire was $2,000.
Hayden is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
