Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire at 4 a.m., Thursday, April 2, 2009, in the Herndon area of Fairfax County. The home is located in the 12000 block of Eddyspark Drive.
Firefighters encountered a fully involved two-story single-family home. A second alarm and an EMS Task Force were requested bringing over 60 emergency personnel to the scene. There were no working smoke alarms in the home. Firefighters brought the fire under control in approximately 10 minutes. The fire was initially reported by a resident living nearby.
Two adults were found deceased inside of the structure.
The victims have not been identified. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. Fire and Police investigators are jointly investigating the deaths.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
