Man Charged With Setting Fire

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators charged Joseph R. Sage, 22, of 8344 Terra Grande Avenue, for setting a fire on Saturday, June 6, 2009.

Sage was charged with setting a fire capable of spreading (Class 6 Felony, Virginia Code 18.2-86), and maliciously burning an unoccupied dwelling house, (Class 4 felony, Virginia Code 18.2.77).

The charges are in connection with a vacant house fire set June 6, 2009, at 8347 Terra Grande Avenue, Springfield. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $200,000.

Sage is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
