Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators charged a juvenile, Wednesday, March 2, 2011, with intentionally setting a fire. The 17 year-old male was charged with setting fire to woods, grass, straw, or things capable of spreading fire on land (Virginia Code 18.2-86).
The charges are in connection to a fire on February 20, 2011, within Difficult Run Stream Valley Park. The fire burned approximately 8,000 square feet of parkland. An adult male and juvenile received non-life threatening injuries while fighting the fire.
There was no property loss.
