Fireboat Rescues Three

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a capsized boat in the Belmont Bay area Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at approximately 12:05 p.m. The event occurred approximately three miles south of the Occoquan Bridge near Interstate 95.

Firefighters from Fire and Rescue Station 20, Gunston, responding in a fireboat, rescued three males on an overturned boat. All three were wearing life preservers and were uninjured. They were transported to the Fairfax Yacht Club. 

Units from Prince William County Department of Fire & Rescue, Fort Belvoir Fire Department, and Charles County Department of Emergency Services, Maryland all assisted on the incident.
