Chamber of Commerce Recognizes Valorous, Lifesaving Actions
On Monday, June 6, 2011, 14 Fairfax County firefighters and Virginia Task Force 1, Fairfax County’s Urban Search and Rescue Team, were spotlighted at the 33rd Annual Valor Awards Ceremony hosted by the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce Valor Scholarship Fund, at the McLean Hilton Hotel.
Firefighters were recognized for their valor and lifesaving actions, while both on and off-duty. Their courage, heroism, and selfless service is in keeping with the proudest traditions of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and the fire service. Their commitment to duty and looking out for the welfare of others, 24/7, demonstrates their extraordinary capacity for helping those in need, locally and abroad.
