Firefighters encountered smoke and fire inside the home and carport of the two-story upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and extinguished the fire in approximately 10 minutes. The occupants were not at home when the fire broke, however, arrived shortly after the fire started. One of the occupants attempted to rescue the family dog, but was unable to because of the heavy smoke conditions throughout the home. The dog perished in the fire.
