Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at approximately 7:50 p.m., in the Pohick area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located at 7609 Davisfield Lane.
Firefighters encountered smoke and fire coming from the left and rear sides of the two-story home upon arrival. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and brought the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. Firefighters also conducted extensive salvage and overhaul operations after the fire was extinguished. The occupants were not at home when the fire broke out. Two adults and three children have been displaced. Red Cross support was declined. There were no injuries.
Damage is estimated at $150,000.
The fire is under investigation.
