Date:  August 20, 2012

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators charged five juveniles Saturday, August 18, 2012, with using improvised explosive devices in connection with an incident July 25, 2012, in the Annandale area of Fairfax County. The incident occurred in the 3300 block of Woodburn Road, at the Condominiums at Woodburn.

The juveniles, ranging in age from 13 to 17, have been charged under Virginia Fire Code 18.2-85, manufacture, possession, use of fire bombs or explosive materials or devices, a class five felony.

The plastic bottle devices caused no injuries or property damage.
