There will be 26 Fairfax County citizens graduating from the second Citizens Fire and Rescue Academy, Thursday, November 14, 2013, 6 p.m., at Fire and Rescue Station 40, Fairfax Station.
The graduates participated in nine weeks of classroom instruction and hands-on activities which included fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous materials, technical rescue, community outreach, and other various topics related to the department.
The course provides an overview, but also an up close and up front view of what firefighters and paramedics do every day for the residents and visitors of Fairfax County.
