Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department fire investigators charged Scottie Alton Reina, 41, of the 6400 block of Richmond Highway, Alexandria, Virginia, with maliciously setting fire to personal property less than $200, Virginia Code 18.2-81, and setting a fire capable of spreading, Virginia Code 18.2-86, Thursday, December 5, 2013.

The charges are in connection to setting an occupied tent on fire near a homeless encampment in the Mount Vernon area of Fairfax County. Damage is estimated at $100.
