Lifeguard Receives Lifesaving Award

On Friday, August 4, 2006, 10 a.m., the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department will recognize Josiah Fisher, a lifeguard at Lakepointe Pool, for his quick and heroic actions during a near drowning.

On June 2, 2006, Josiah Fisher, Annandale, performed lifesaving actions to a ten-year-old boy who had been removed from the community pool unconscious and in respiratory arrest.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel and paramedics found the victim with a strong pulse and needing respiratory assistance. The child was transported to the hospital where he made a full recovery.

The lifesaving actions taken by Josiah Fisher were instrumental in saving his life.
