The Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department will recognize Jon Redman, J. J. Redman, Bobby Giannotto, Redman’s Towing Service, and Ronnie Stanley, a Caterpillar loader operator, for their quick actions during a multiple vehicle collision, Friday, September 22, 2006, 10 a.m., at Lorton Fire and Rescue Station 19, 7701 Armistead Road, Lorton.
On May 1, 2006, all four individuals assisted fire and rescue personnel in the extrication of a driver who was trapped when two dump trucks overturned at the Lorton Landfill, 1001 Lorton Road.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a large dump truck had overturned on top of a smaller dump truck crushing the cab and trapping the driver inside.
Their professionalism, quick, and decisive actions helped save the trapped driver’s life. For these actions, the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department will present them with a Citizen Recognition Award.
