120th Firefighter/EMT Graduation
(Chief Michael Neuhard’s Final Duty Day)

Since September, 2006, recruit firefighters from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department have been training to respond to hazardous materials incidents, emergency vehicle extrications, swift water rescue, confined rescue, fire suppression, and emergency medical incidents. The 20-week recruit firefighter/EMT course is strenuous, both physically and mentally.

Chairman Gerald E. Connolly, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, will be the keynote speaker.

Fire Chief Michael P. Neuhard will address the 25 graduating recruits and administer their oath on his final day of duty. Chief Neuhard was a member of the 39th Recruit School which started January 2, 1977.

Chief Neuhard will begin his new duties as Deputy County Administrator, Stafford County, February 5, 2007.
